Dr. Gonzalez-Vallina is the director of the health system's gastroenterology outpatient initiative in Nicklaus Children's Hospital and an assistant clinical professor at Florida International University's Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. He served on the hospital's board of directors as vice president during his 2008-2011 term. Dr. Gonzalez-Vallina has lectured nationally and internationally and earned the Certificate of Appreciation from Congress as well as the America's Best Doctors awards for the past five years.
